Paris Design Week 2024 | Highlights and Trends from Maison & Objet by the Erada Agency

Paris, France  - From January 18 to 22, 2024, eight Parc des Expositions de Villepinter halls welcomed the 30th Anniversary “Tech Eden'' themed edition of Maison & Objet for buyers, architects, craftsmen, and tastemakers worldwide. Creators from all walks of life flew in from Japan, South Korea, Portugal, Denmark, America, Dubai, etc., creating quite an array of inspiring displays varying in style, color, pattern, material, and purpose.

The Erada Agency www.erada.agency attended the massive Maison & Objet design show in Paris this year to report back on trends and continue their close relationship with the design world, an essential advantage and value the agency provides in achieving success for their discerning clientele. The Erada agency has years of experience working with brands and producing events for digital, film, and experiential projects centered around Design Thinking, a set of procedures that apply different approaches that creatives take to solve problems. With this philosophy in mind, some trends this year stood out more than others.

LIVING SPACE

Living space trends we noticed were filled with pops of unexpected uses of marble, dark wood, and a bounty of playful colors carefully balanced with tempered warm tones. Curves are still ever-present in furniture, art, and objects, but not without the occasional appearance of brutalist straight edges softened by the material's texture in its composition.

COLOR & SPACE

The spatial reasoning and color theory of how things perfectly land together while satisfying needs and desires requires both intention and feeling. That is the nuance of good design. It is anticipating a person’s life in action and establishing connections to themselves and others within their living, working, and entertaining space.

TREND: ARTFUL LIGHTING

MINIMALISM AND MAXIMALISM: A BALANCE

Minimalism and maximalism are finding their equilibrium; walking through the exhibit halls, there was an essence of livability. However, it was very apparent that down to the choice of textile and even scent - there is an eagerness to translate the romance and simplicity that we seek to set the stage of our lives.
